Telemental Health Sessions (Online Therapy)
Online therapy or telemental health is defined as the use of technology to have a therapy session. In response to the current COVID-19 pandemic and government safety regulations, and in order to provide continuity of care to my clients while abiding by my professional legal and ethical guidelines, I am temporarily offering online counseling sessions through thera-LINK. Thera-LINK is a HIPAA compliant platform that uses video and audio technology through a webcam on your device and my device to connect us securely. Thera-LINK uses encrypted data streams (AES-256) for our video sessions. Any data that is stored outside of our video session on the thera-LINK platform (such as documents, messages, notes, etc.) is encrypted and meets or exceeds all HIPAA and HITECH guidelines.
If counseling is begun, sessions typically begin weekly or bi-weekly depending on the nature of treatment. The frequency of meeting and duration of treatment is different for each person and is derived from each client’s goals. It can be hard to estimate an exact timeline, including termination, but this will be addressed throughout the counseling process.
- Individual: 50-60 minutes
- Couples: 90 minutes
- Marriage Preparation: 90 minutes
- Family: 90 minutes
