Counseling PhilosophyCounseling is an opportunity for two people, counselor and client, to "walk together” in an attempt to help the client better understand him/herself. This process involves examining your environments, emotions, thoughts, and behaviors in order to gather a complete picture of how you best cope with life's stressors. I am trained to support clients in making the changes that will bring out their best self through making decisions that align with client strengths, goals, and life values. The type of counseling offered to each client varies depending on personalities and the presenting concerns clients bring forward.

Counseling Style
My theoretical orientation is heavily focused on a wellness and strengths-based approach to understanding human behavior and counseling. I mostly draw from Cognitive-Behavioral, Interpersonal, and Acceptance-Commitment therapy approaches but am able to integrate other styles as well that best fit my clients needs. If desired, I am also comfortable helping clients integrate spiritual and religious values and practices into our therapy work. In addition, I enjoy using creative experiential and impact techniques in both individual and group therapy settings.
